Funeral Service for Kent L. Smith age 70 of Bassett, NE will be held on Friday (July 3, 2026) at 10:00 AM at the Bassett Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Sybrant Cemetery southeast of Bassett. Kent Smith passed away Sunday (June 28, 2026) at the Rock County Hospital in Bassett.

Wife: Faye of Bassett

Sons: Trevor (Amber) Smith of Cohagen, MT

& Cameron (Hannah) Smith of Bassett

3 Grandchildren

Mother: Clarice Smith of Bassett

Sister: Rennae (Alvin) Ruiz of Torrington, WY

Along with other family members

Visitations for Kent Smith will be held on Thursday (July 2, 2026) from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Methodist Church in Bassett and continue Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the family in Kent’s name for a future designation.
