Because of Cheri's love for the mountains, she and Dave moved to Lake George, Colorado in 1982 where she continued as a wife and mother and also became licensed cosmetologist, cutting and styling hair in her own beauty salon in her home. In 1990, Cheri began pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a registered nurse, studying long hours and commuting countless miles to Colorado Springs where she graduated in 1993. Cheri worked for more than 25 years as a dedicated nurse where she was known by all her patients and coworkers for her compassion and excellent care. She received numerous awards for her work in the Cardiology Department and in 2004 was even a finalist to receive the distinguished Florence Nightingale Award for her “exemplary service and pioneering spirit.”
Cheri married Dale Gemaehlich on July 16, 2018. Their love for horses and riding in the beautiful mountains was their passion in life especially after her retirement in 2020.
