OBITUARY OF BOBBI J (LUTZ) COLEMAN

Bobbi Jean (Lutz) Coleman, 65, of Bassett, NE, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025, at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln, NE. Bobbi was born on June 17, 1960, in Mitchell, SD, to Thomas and Ruth (Beutner) Lutz. The family lived in White Lake, SD, before moving and settling in Long Pine, NE. Bobbi attended elementary school in Long Pine and high school at Rock County High School, graduating with the class of 1978. After graduation, she attended college at the South Dakota School of Mines. After returning to Nebraska, Bobbi met Bryan. That was the start of a love story that would span over 46 years. She and Bryan were married in Bassett on June 23, 1979. They had four children: Kylie, Bryce, Nikki, and Tyler. She was a wonderful and devoted mother. She and Bryan started their family life, with Bryan working for Kirwan’s, and the family later settled on the family ranch east of Bassett, where they worked the ranch and raised their family. She would join Coleman Associates and Coleman Irrigation, working alongside her father-in-law, Bryce, as an insurance agent while balancing work on the ranch and raising kids. They would work together over many years until his passing, when she and Bryan then took over the agency. She continued working until her passing.

Bobbi had many interests and was gifted in many things. She flourished in FFA in high school. She was a hands-on ranch hand, knew the insurance business inside and out, was crafty, and enjoyed doing woodworking and sewing. She loved a good book, golf with friends and family, playing cards, the color yellow, being outside working in the yard and garden, peanut butter cookies, watching crime shows, doing puzzles, enjoying a Coca-Cola, and a Sunday drive with Bryan.

Bobbi was one of seven siblings, whom she loved dearly. They enjoyed many times together over the years, and she cherished those times.

Bobbi’s favorite pastime, however, was anything that involved her grandchildren: Ava, Zoey, Adeline, Case, Claire, Joslin, and Brooks. She was their biggest cheerleader in all things in life. This included cheering them on with their school activities, near and far. She was a hands-on grandma; snuggling, playing games on the floor with them, playing dress up, keeping their secrets, or being the ultimate escape from their parents. She and Bryan annually took the seven grandkids school shopping and on adventures. She made every holiday special, and she was always steady when you needed a comforting hug or encouragement.

Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ruth Lutz; her sisters, Jackie Nagy and Kathy Johnson; her brother, Mike Lutz; her father and mother-in-law, Bryce and Bubs Coleman; and sister-in-law, Cheri Coleman. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bryan Coleman of Bassett; four children, Kylie (Matt) Joyce of Cozad, NE, Bryce (Daile) Coleman of Bassett; Nikki (Dustin) Nagle of Lincoln, and Tyler Coleman of Bassett; seven grandchildren, Ava and Adeline Joyce; Zoey, Case and Brooks Coleman, Claire Nagle and Joslin Coleman. She is also survived by siblings, Joel (Judy) Lutz of Bassett, Diana Shaul and fiancé Mike Dickhausen of Nebraska City, NE, and Sherri (Bill) Klatt of North Platte, NE; sister-in-law, Cheri (Steve) Heimann of Norfolk, NE; brothers-in law, Dan Nagy of Oxford, NE and Dave Coleman of Colorado Springs, CO; cousins, Randy (Cheryl) Lutz and Jaime Todd Lutz of Mason City, IA; along with nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Bobbi will forever be cherished and missed for her love of her family, for her contagious laugh, for her selflessness, her quick wit, and her ability to make moments fun. She was one in a million. And Dad gives you one final ü.
