Zelda M. (Yenglin) Moore

February 22, 1940 — August 9, 2022

Zelda Mae (Yenglin) Moore passed away August 9, 2022 at Rock County Hospital Long Term Care in Bassett, NE, at the age of 82 years.
She was born on February 22, 1940, to Maford and Aileen (Malone) Yenglin north of Crookston, NE. She joined two sisters, Freda and Mary for several years. The three of them later welcomed a brother, Maford Jr. The family moved to the O’Neill, NE area where Zelda attended grade school. Later the family moved to a farm north of Ainsworth, NE and she attended Ainsworth High School. It was there that she met the love of her life, Jim Moore, and the two of them were married on May 28, 1955 in Long Pine, NE. To this union, two daughters were born, Charlotte and Sherry.
Most of Zelda’s married life was spent working along side her husband, farming and ranching north of Ainsworth. In later years, she was known for her cleaning abilities and was kept very busy by numerous businesses and families in Ainsworth. She was proud to have been the custodian of the Ainsworth Church of the Nazarene for over 20 years.
She enjoyed baking bread, making cinnamon rolls and other goodies to share with family and friends in the community.
The greatest joy of her life was time spent with her husband, her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Every moment spent with any and all family members was one she cherished. But she would tell you the best decision she ever made was to receive Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. He was her strength and support during the rough times and her joy and peace in the good times for over forty years. She loved studying God’s word, spending time in prayer and with her church family. And it is a joyful peace for those who loved her to know she is ‘HOME’ with Him now.
Zelda was preceded in death by Jim, her husband of 59 years; her parents and parents-in-law; her sister, Freda; brother, Maford Jr., and granddaughter, Jessica Buoy. Survivors include daughters, Charlotte (Greg) Wales and Sherry (Rick) Buoy all of Ainsworth; sister, Mary Keim of Bassett, NE; sisters-in-law, Shiela Yenglin of Fort Collins, CO and Darlene Reilly of Valentine, NE; grandaughters, Angie (Craig) Neal of Townsend, MT, Hilary (Eric) Dana of Sidney, NE, and grandsons, Collin (Teresa) Wales of Pierce, NE, Seth (Mandy Baker) Buoy of El Dorado, KS; along with ten great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, August 15, 2022 in the Ainsworth Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Russell Thayer officiating at the service. Music was provided by Kathy Bennett.
