Patricia K. Jones

June 2, 1960 — November 19, 2021

Patricia Kae Jones died November 19, 2021 in her home in Ainsworth, NE. She was born June 2, 1960 in Ainsworth to Helen Lois Pedersen and Raymond Franklin Jones. Patricia grew up on the Jones ranch becoming her daddy’s “right hand man.” She attended St. Martin’s Academy of Black Hills in Rapid City, SD. She transferred to and graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1978 alongside her dad when he completed his senior credits.
She took a journey to Tulsa, OK where she became an EMT. Patricia’s daughter, Samantha, was born in 1985 and together they moved to Nebraska. Patricia graduated from Chadron State College with her teaching degree and began teaching 7th-12th grades Family and Consumer Sciences. Patricia graduated with her Masters Degree in 2004 to pursue counseling. Patricia counseled high school students in Fremont, NE and Springview, NE. In 2009, Patricia started her educator role with the University of Nebraska in the Brown County Extension Office. This role led her to have the opportunity to work with kids and adults in a variety of topics ranging from cooking, canning, 4-H, gardening and many more topics.
Patricia’s faith in God was strong and she felt the most connected to God through his creations in nature. Set to retire on June 2022, her next dream was to run her mobile coffee business, Moody Blues, and spend time near her grandkids. She wanted to be able to roam freely from place to place by moving into an RV. Nothing held her back from being able to accomplish what she needed done. She was a fixer, creating and repairing many things during her life.
In her free time she loved to spend time with her grand children. A few of her favorite things were traveling, flying kites, the beach, experimenting in the kitchen, lighthouses, camping, goofy frogs, butterflies, trying new things and wild flowers.
Patricia gained many friends in her life and lived life to the fullest. She would help anyone in need. Her contagious laugh brought life to so many conversations.
“Patricia was a Mom, Grandma, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and dear Friend. She is loved deeply and will be missed by so many. Love you more.”
Patricia was preceded in death by her father; and a sister, Veleria Hayes. She is survived by her mother, Helen Jones of Ainsworth; sisters Annette (Butch) Hubbell of Colorado Springs, CO and Rayetta (Steve) Zibell of Lead, SD; daughter Samantha (Jarod) Osmotherly of Stephenville, TX; four grandchildren, Emma, Abbie, Lia and Jaxon; along with nieces, nephews and other family members.
