Mervin Carrol Davis was born November 20, 1942 to Hans and Carman (Williams) Davis. Mervin passed away on January 28, 2020 at the Sandhills Care Center in Ainsworth, Nebraska.
Mervin attended grade school in Norden and High School at Keya Paha County High School. He worked as a butcher, mechanic and ranch hand. He loved trucking and carrying his camera with him to capture the beauty of many states. Mervin’s passion was hunting and fishing.
Mervin was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Clarence; his sister Vada; two nephews Donald Bjorkiund and Randy Swim; a great niece Stacy Swim and his son Mike.
Mervin is survived by his daughters, Janice Davis of Thermopolis, Wyoming and Sondra (Mike) Peck of Bonesteel, South Dakota; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mervin is also survived by his sister Donna (Roger) Swim of Springview; one brother Don Davis of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; his local nephews, Rory(Sue) Swim and Rick (Joan) Swim and their families and niece Renae Swim.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date on the family ranch. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the family in his name. Hoch Funeral Home of Ainsworth assisted with arrangements and online condolences may be left for the family at www.hochfuneralhome.com .
