Linda Lou Jamison was born on December 13, 1945 at Bassett, Nebraska to O.D. "Tim" Jamison and Maxine (Kurzenberger) Jamison. She passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 5, 2014 in her home near Springview, Nebraska.
Linda graduated from Keya Paha County High School in 1964. After high school she attended Wayne State College. She returned home and taught school at District 76 and then at District 64. On January 13, 1968, she married John H. Smith at the Lutheran Church in Ainsworth, Nebraska. Together they raised three children. Linda was active in the Nite Lites Extension Club as well as holding many offices for FCE. Linda retired from the Post Office after many years of service at Ainsworth. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers as well as being an avid deer hunter. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father and brother, William John Jamison. Survivors include, husband John H. Smith of Springview; three children, Quinn (Amy) Smith of Ranson, West Virginia, Michele Smith of Maryland Heights, Missouri, Sheila (Dennis) Bracht of Arlington, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Blake, Chelsey, Jamison, Grant and Bailey; Mother, Maxine Jamison of Springview; Sisters, Nila (Rod) Gierau of Springview and Mary (John) Brehm of Lincoln, Nebraska. Three brothers-in-law, Joseph LaFace of Conway Arkansas, Don (Jeanie) Smith of Carrolton, Texas, Bill McFarland of Allendale Illinois, along with nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on January 9, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Springview, Nebraska with Pastor Rod Heilbrun officiating over the service. Special music was provided by Mary and Sam Courts, Kenly Udd and Steven Swanson, with song selections of "How Great Thou Art", "In The Garden" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus." Pallbearers were, Ted Eichenberger, Carlyle "Buz" Cook, Ben Weston, Steve Hallock, Brett Gierau and Bob Painter. Burial was held at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Springview, Nebraska. Memorials were directed to the Springview Unite Methodist Church or to the family in her name. Hoch Funeral Home of Ainsworth was in charge of the arrangements.
