Linda Lu Peacock

November 2, 1948 — March 22, 2013

Linda Lu Peacock of Grand Island, Nebraska passed away March 22, 2013 at the Golden Living Center Lakeview.
Following cremation, Graveside Services were held at Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery in Bassett, Nebraska with Pastor Rod Heilbrun officiating the service. Hoch Funeral Home of Bassett was in charge of the arrangements.
Linda was born November 2, 1948 at Bassett, Nebraska to Oscar and Wilma (DeBolt) Peacock.
Linda was a "special" child. She graduated from the 8th grade in Bassett. She loved music just like her daddy. She enjoyed writing page after page of whatever was in a paper or magazine. Linda was secretary and spokesperson for "People's First" while she was a resident for 30 years at North Star in O'Neill, Nebraska where she had excellent care. She even got to go to Lincoln, Nebraska and sit in at the Governor's Ball, right at the governor's table through her involvement with "People's First." Linda moved to Grand Island Golden Living Center Lakeview three years ago. The family would like to thank Lakeview and Aseracare Hospice for the excellent care of our loved one. Linda was of the Methodist faith and is survived by her sister Joanne (Stan) Mengers of Grand Island; niece, Ronda (Daron) Talsma and great niece, Aspen Talsma of Skandia, Michigan; niece, Robin Parsons and step-great-niece, Sheena Parsons, and her daughters, Donna Marie Sinner, and Kallie Ann Parsons all of Grand Island, and great-step-nephew Justin Parsons of Lincoln, Nebraska, and aunts and cousins. Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials were suggested to the family for distribution to the "Special Care Unit" at Grand Island Golden Living Center Lakeview in Linda's name.
