Donald was born on August 5, 1944 to George and Dorothy (Bates) Frick on the family dairy farm near Ashton, Iowa. He graduated from Ocheyden High School in 1962. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic and loud laughter that could be heard from across the room. Donald was a long-term member of the New Hope Community Church in Springview. He put his handy skills to use when assisting to build the New Hope Community Church.
