Jerry Lyne DeBolt

Jerry Lyne DeBolt was born August 4, 1965 at Bassett, Nebraska to Leo Arthur and Katherine June (Seadore) DeBolt. He passed away June 23, 2016 at the Rock County Long Term Care in Bassett. Jerry and twin brother, Gary were two adventurous boys growing up. Jerry had a tendency of hitching rides with semi operators after a Wednesday cattle auction to deliver cattle to their buyers without telling anyone. Jerry had a love for fast cars that led to his auto accident in August of 1981. After his accident, Jerry spent the next 35 years moving to different nursing care facilities in Beatrice, North Platte, Broken Bow and finally Bassett. Jerry was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker football fan and a Nascar racing fan as well. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Katherine DeBolt; a sister, Betty Jane Hart and a nephew, Trayvin DeBolt. He leaves to celebrate his memory eight siblings, Bobby Gene of Bassett, Mary Ann (Mrs. John Hartgrave) of Alliance, Nebraska, Carol June (Mrs. Duskin Lowe) of Rapid City, South Dakota, Billy Eugene of Long Pine, Nebraska, Jimmy Lee and wife, Angela of Long pine, Judy Lynn (Mrs. Allan Lear) of Bassett, Gary Lee and special friend, Deb of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Valerie Lynn (Mrs. Ellwood Herron) of Ord, Nebraska; 18 nieces and nephews; 19 great-nieces and great-nephews; three aunts, Margaret Seadore of Long Pine, Margie Seadore of Callaway, Nebraska and Shirley Hitchcock of Ainsworth; and two uncles, Raymond and Albert Seadore of Callaway along with cousins and other family members.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Bassett with Pastor Rod Heilbrun officiating. The CD songs, "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me, "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynrd and "Beautiful Loser" by Bob Seger were played. Casketbearers were: Conan Allen, Shamus Hartgrave, Jesse DeBolt, Arthur DeBolt, Brad Arrowsmith and Ronnie Davis. Memorials were suggested to the family in his name. Interment was in the Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery.
